The Reef Octopus Hang On the Back protein skimmer (BH100SS) w/ surface skimmer  has a surface cup connected to the pump intake.  This allows the pump to intake aquarium water from the protein rich surface instead of 4 inches below ( BH100 model).  Collecting surface water increases protein skimming efficiency and overall better water quality.  This Reef Octopus skimmers is powered by the Hailea OTP 1000 pump. Built with high quality acrylic. The Octopus skimmers uses metric plumbing parts. The pump has an improved venturi design and pinwheel impeller.
