If your incomming water source has a pressure reading of 45psi or less, your RO will be producing much more "waste" water than the desired "product" or "RO/DI" water. The ratings on your RO membrane (50gpd, 80gpd, 100gpd) etc. are rated to produce that amount or RO "product" water at 70-75°F and at an average 55-65psi reading. At these settings, an RO/DI system will function normal producing a ratio of waste water to RO/DI water of about 3 to 1 (3 gallons of waste water to 1 gallon of product water produced). If pressure is to low, the waste water to product water ratio can increase dramatically. This will result in the loss of life expectancy of all cartridges, and much slower production water time. The use of a booster pump is necessary in these types of conditions to rectify the performace of your RO/DI system.
The HydroLogic Booster Pump Kit includes all the components necessary to rectify your incomming low pressure flow and maximize the performance of your RO/DI system. It will turn that low incomming pressure into a constant 65psi flow into your RO/DI system.
This Kit can be used on any RO/DI system that is run on city or well water source.
